Description:
OLD BALTIMORE PIKE SIDE PATH, PHASE II OLD BALTIMORE PIKE SIDE PATH, PHASE II - Design and construction of a new side path along Old Baltimore Pike. This project will span along Old Baltimore Pike in Newark, Delaware, linking DE State Route 72 to Walther Road, covering a distance of 2.1 miles. It involves the construction of a 6-foot-wide concrete path that complies with ADA standards, accompanied by a 2-foot grass buffer. The purpose of the project is to improve safety and connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists. The need of this project is to fill a gap in the current sidewalk network along Old Baltimore Pike. Additionally, there is a need to enhance existing curb ramps, driveway aprons, roadway lighting, signage, pavement markings, and upgrade traffic signals. These improvements are strategically designed to encourage a transition away from vehicle-centric transportation, promoting and facilitating non-motorized modes of travel such as walking and biking. Follow other incidental construction in accordance with the location, notes and details shown on the plans, and as directed by the Engineer.
