Liberty State Park Ferry and Emergency Evacuation Terminal The Liberty State Park (LSP) Emergency Evacuation and Terminal Facility Project in Jersey City, Hudson County, entails the construction of a new ferry landing in the same location as the prior, now sunken, ferry landing to include a 200-foot long by 25-foot-wide fixed pier, a 200-foot long by 50-foot-wide floating steel barge, a timber fender system, and a canopy above the fixed pier that mirrors the historic details of the adjacent historic rail terminal. The new structure will be installed in an ?L? configuration at the east end of the pier, oriented to the south and be outfitted with steel framed fender racks designed for bow loading and side loading vessel berthing, pile collars to anchor the barge in place, two aluminum gangways for passenger and crew access, and a guardhouse. Interpretive signage will also be installed. The new facility is designed to dock multiple rescue and transport vessels simultaneously and perform in a safe, consistent and reliable manner, or handle an all-boats call from the Captain of the Port.
