Description:
SR1 PIPE REPLACEMENTS SR1 PIPE REPLACEMENTS - Culvert replacements at Bridge 2-008M, and an unnamed culvert, to be named Bridge 2-008Q located on SR1 over tributary to the Murderkill River. Bridge 2-008M is an existing corrugated metal pipe that has corrosion at the water line and is in fair condition. The pipe is located on SR1, an NHS route (main north/south artery in Delaware). Replacing the culvert will improve the Department's bridge condition performance measures. The unnamed culvert, to be named Bridge 2-008Q, located on SR1 between the Murderkill River and the DE Turf Sports Complex is also an existing corrugated metal pipe. The pipe is near the end of its service life as corrosion is prevalent throughout its length and scour has threatened the stability of the pipe inlet. Replacing the culvert will improve the condition and safety of the asset. Follow other incidental construction in accordance with the location, notes and details shown on the plans, and as directed by the Engineer.
