US 24, Green Mountain Falls Turn Lanes. Construct an Eastbound Right Turn lane to Green Mtn Falls Road and Construct a Westbound Left Turn accel lane from Green Mtn Falls Road. Total widening each side will be 16.5 Feet. Work will include new guardrail at both turn lane locations, 5 new embankment protectors, extending the Box Culvert 5 feet and adding new wingwalls, creating a ditch with a gutter pan across the trail southwest of the intersection to solve current erosion problems, paving the access to Packard road and adding a Culvert and Gutter pan to assist with erosion problems in that location. Approximately 85 trees will need to be removed with this project as a part of the clearing process for construction. There will also be very minor widening at the SE corner of Green Mtn Falls Road where vehicles are currently driving in the dirt, it will be 4' total width to achieve a 2 Ft. wider turn radius. Total revegetation will be about 3 acres.
