The project includes adding additional storage to the existing southbound left turn lane on US 287 at Miramonte Blvd. The project also includes adding second southbound left turn lane on US 287 at Midway Blvd, improving the east leg of Midway Boulevard to receive two left turn lanes, modification of the northbound US 287 right turn lane to eastbound Midway Boulevard, pedestrian crossing enhancements, associated signing/striping/signal modifications, and improving safety through access closure on Midway Boulevard. In addition, the project will shift the southbound lanes on US 287 at the westbound US 36 ramp junction into the median, addition of a raised median between the southbound through lanes and southbound on-ramp lane, and associated signing/striping/signal modifications. The project also converts US287 existing eastbound right turn lane into through/right turn choice lane by restriping and lane width adjustments. On the opposite site of the intersection each through lane will have a traffic signal head centered over the lane.
