SF 179 HELENA INTX SAFETY Safety improvements on the SF 179 HELENA INTX SAFETY project at 3 sites in the Helena area: SITE 1: Prospect Avenue (US 12) and Gibbon Intersection (approx. RP 45.55 to RP 45.75 (US 12) within the City of Helena in Lewis and Clark County) ? Remove left turn movement, replace left turn bay with raised concrete refuge island. Install ladder-style crosswalk and new pedestrian warning signs for southbound vehicles on Gibbon. Install pedestrian warning signs for eastbound to northbound left-turning vehicles on Prospect (place in raised median). SITE 2: Lincoln Road (Secondary 453) and Glass Drive Intersection (approx. RP 0.4 to 0.75 (S-453) in Lewis and Clark County) - Install 1-2 luminaires for designation lighting, install northbound/southbound oversized stop signs with "cross traffic does not stop" plaques, add new northbound/southbound stop bars, install eastbound/westbound intersection warning signs with street name plaques. SITE 3: Lincoln Road (Secondary 453) and Hauser Dam Road Intersection (approx. RP 4.85 to RP 5.12(S-453) in Lewis and Clark County) - ITS solution ? Installation of a vehicle activated solar powered sign warning eastbound vehicles about upcoming stop condition. Inlaid thermoplastic warning in roadway, upgrade existing double-sided arrow sign.
