Whittier Tunnel Standby Generators This federally funded project will install four (4) new backup generators at the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel in Whittier, Alaska (two at the Bear Valley portal, two at the Whittier portal) to allow the tunnel to operate under normal and emergency conditions during prolonged power outages. Work includes diesel fuel tank systems, support pads, sitework, control systems, electrical systems, and other incidental work.
