Description:
The SF 229 Helena Pedestrian Improvement project is a pedestrian crossing improvement project at two sites. Site 1: North Last Chance Gulch (N-127) from RP 0.46 to RP 0.64 in Helena will address pedestrian-vehicle conflicts. Three ground mounted rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) are to be installed at the crossing with updated signing, striping, and ADA improvements. Site 2: North Montana Avenue (U-5811) from RP 0.00 to RP 0.36 in Helena will address pedestrian-vehicle conflicts. Three ground mounted rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) are to be installed at 9th Avenue, 8th Avenue, 5th Avenue, and Breakenridge Street crossings on North Montana Avenue. A raised median is included from Breckenridge Street to 9th Avenue with lighting improvements from 6th Avenue to 9th Avenue on North Montana Avenue. Updated signing and striping along with ADA improvements are included with this project.
