In her new position, Martin will direct the coordination of district-wide project planning and oversee advanced project development and public involvement. "I am honored to be selected for this position right here in the community where I grew up," Martin said. "I am dedicated to continuing our mission of enhancing safety, mobility, and connectivity here in the Atlanta District."
After graduating from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Martin began her career with TxDOT as a Design Technician in 2001. She became a licensed Professional Engineer in 2010.
Martin spent eight years in Atlanta District Design producing plans for construction. She also worked in the District Lab and four years in the North Design office producing schematics and working on mobility projects. She later transferred to planning and spent several years as the Atlanta District’s Consultant Manager.
In April 2018, she was promoted to the position of Atlanta District Advance Planning Engineer, where she has been instrumental in managing the district’s consultant contracts, mobility project schematic and plan design, utility coordination, environmental studies, project public meetings, and right of way mapping and surveying.
Martin replaces Deanne Simmons, who has accepted a position based in Austin.
