HOUSTON, TX — Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) announces Mackrena Ramos, PE, Vice President and Business Group Director at LAN, has been named the 2024 Engineer of the Year by Houston Hispanic Architects and Engineers (HHAE). Ramos was honored and awarded at the HHAE Gala.
As HHAE’s 2024 Engineer of the Year, Ramos is recognized for her leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to advancing the engineering profession. The HHAE Gala is a significant fundraiser supporting scholarships and recognizing contributions to the Houston Hispanic community.
With over 25 years of experience, Ramos has played a critical role in shaping the future of Houston’s infrastructure. Her work on the City of Houston's Surface Water Transmission Program has been pivotal in ensuring reliable water service for the Greater Houston area. Her contributions extend beyond her technical achievements as she is also a dedicated mentor, particularly to young female engineers, fostering the next generation of industry leaders.
