LAN's Cornett is Named New President of ASCE - Texas Section

FORT WORTH, TX — Kimberly K. Cornett, PE, CFM, F. ASCE, with Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) has been installed as the new President of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) - Texas Section. As President, Cornett will continue the organization’s emphasis on growth and professional development for its 11,000 state members. Cornett is also interested in sharpening the focus on K-12 STEM education and community involvement.

Cornett has been a member of ASCE for 25 years. Before being elected President, she held various leadership roles at the local and state levels. Just before Cornett’s swearing-in ceremony, she was presented with the 2023 President’s Special Recognition Award and was previously honored with the group’s Professional Service Award.

Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Cornett has experience managing stormwater projects and supports infrastructure projects in North Texas for LAN. She is involved in projects for LAN at all levels — from initial planning and feasibility studies to managing engineering and construction.

A member of the Texas Floodplain Management Association, Cornett has a master’s degree in civil engineering with a concentration in water resources from the University of Texas at San Antonio. A Professional Engineer, Cornett is licensed in Texas.
