JaRyCo and the Hub Partner to Bring Outdoor Entertainment Venue to the Farm in Allen
The Hub will occupy 2.67 acres at the center of the 135-acre mixed-use development, directly adjacent to The Farm’s West Lake Park. The center will have over three-quarters of an acre of open space including a 2,000-square-foot stage for live music, televised sports, and movies; a 5,700-square-foot outdoor covered lawn flanked by nine indoor/outdoor restaurants, an ice cream shop, bars, and retail; more than 15,000 square feet of covered, upper, and lower shared dining space with large tables and ample seating; and nearly 13,000 square feet of additional open outdoor space for seating. JaRyCo and The Hub expect to complete construction in 2022.
“The Hub perfectly aligns with our mission to create a master planned, walkable community oriented around families,” said Bruce Heller, President of JaRyCo. “As developers and operators, The Hub ensures its event spaces are activated daily. Plus, the open-air setup is perfect for today’s circumstances, allowing The Farm in Allen’s tenants and patrons to safely unwind in their own backyard. The Hub will be a natural gathering place for those who work or live at The Farm and the surrounding area.”
Once constructed, the site will be The Hub’s first North Texas location. The Hub launched its initial location in 2015 near Seaside, Florida, along Scenic Highway 30A, and it has since become a destination location in the Florida panhandle.
“North Texans have strong family values, making the region ideal for The Hub. It’s a place for friends, family, and nearby office workers to get together, unwind, and enjoy good, clean fun. The Hub transforms everyday experiences like grabbing a bite to eat, listening to some music, or watching a game into something festive in an inviting space made for the community to share,” said Brad Zeitlin, Founder and Owner of The Hub. “This partnership is a fantastic opportunity for us to continue our expansion in Texas, and provides The Farm in Allen with a dynamic shared space and daily events provided by The Hub’s own entertainment company that complement the community they’re developing.”
In July 2020, JaRyCo announced its partnership with Allen’s Johnson family to develop its farmland into The Farm in Allen. Located on the southeast corner of the Sam Rayburn Tollway and Alma Drive in Allen, the development is designed to be a place to live, work, and play with over 1.6 million square feet of office, 142,000 square feet of retail, a 150-key hotel, 60,000 square feet of restaurants, townhomes, and 2,400 urban residential units.
The Farm in Allen will also embrace the property’s natural beauty with a 2 ½ acre lake, boardwalk restaurants, over 2 ½ miles of hike and bike trails, a 16-acre greenbelt along Watters Creek and four additional park areas. The development will tie into the City of Allen hike and bike trail system and will also include several energy efficient and sustainable design features.
Infrastructure construction is planned to begin in early 2021. JaRyCo engaged Omniplan Architects, civil engineer Dynamic Engineering, and landscape architect TBG on the project.
