Savage Joins GEI as Senior Water Resource Practice Lead

DALLAS, TX — Elizabeth Savage joins GEI Consultants as a Senior Water Resource Practice Lead. Based in GEI’s Dallas branch, Savage's breadth of experience will enable the GEI team to support communities across the state of Texas. Her work will help to address the state’s growing water needs with sound, hazard-informed development decisions.

“The addition of Elizabeth to our team underscores GEI’s commitment to provide the very best integrated water management for the people of Texas,” said Rachel Hayden, Vice President of GEI. “Elizabeth has experience and knowledge of the needs of individual communities throughout the state, as well as flood planning and flood mitigation expertise through her work with FEMA.”

Savage is a Civil Engineer and Program Management Consultant with more than 20 years of experience in watershed hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and large-scale floodplain mapping projects. Savage's primary focus throughout her career has been support to FEMA floodplain mapping, flood management, and hazard mitigation assistance teams. She has supported flood mapping in various states and supported the development of hundreds of countywide flood studies. In the last decade Savage has assisted in aligning local, state, and federal water resource programs.

“There are a range of opportunities for communities and companies to transform their tomorrow — water is at the heart of it all,” Savage said. “There are opportunities to cooperate with our clients to build a strong economic base, to inform revitalization and development strategies, to address water supply needs, to reduce flood impacts, to rehabilitate aging infrastructure, and to identify climate adaptation approaches. These opportunities are at the heart of what GEI provides. I am very lucky to be able to draw on my experiences, and on the wealth of knowledge across our national team, to tackle challenges — big and small — with meaningful solutions and advances."

Over the past decade Savage has supported various agency collaboration efforts across federal, state, regional, and local teaming efforts. Most recently acting as the Chief Architect of Base Level Engineering for the Federal Emergency Management Agency. She has a track record of innovative and integrated solutions supporting partnerships and shared solutioning across various levels of government.
