DALLAS, TX — KAI announces the appointment of Herschel L. Acosta, CCM as Senior Vice President at its Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, office. Acosta brings a wealth of experience and leadership that will enhance the capabilities and growth of the 360 Construction Services (360 CS) division.

In his new role, Acosta will leverage his 25 years of program, project, and construction management expertise to oversee and drive the growth of 360 CS in the Texas market and beyond. KAI has previously collaborated with Acosta.

“Herschel has been a prominent figure in the Dallas Metro area for the past nine years, contributing significantly to the growth and development of numerous high-profile projects. His appointment to KAI’s Program and Construction Management group reflects the firm’s commitment to attracting top talent and fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and diversity,” 360 CS President Bruce Wood, PE, said. “His extensive experience and proven track record of successful programs, in tandem with his commitment to our mission of transforming communities through integrated design and construction excellence, make him a perfect fit for our team.”

Before joining KAI, Acosta spent nearly 24 years with Jacobs Engineering in Texas, where he served as Vice President and Sales Executive. In various operational roles, he led projects, programs, and teams across different regions of the U.S.

Some of his federal project experience includes a $25 million U.S. Federal Building and Courthouse in Brownsville, Texas; a new border patrol facility for the Immigration & Naturalization Services in Harlingen, Texas; and a $28 million academic building and parking garage for the University of Texas at San Antonio.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in construction management from Texas A&M University and is a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) accredited by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA). Additionally, he holds the Associate Constructor certification from the American Institute of Constructors and has completed Northwestern University’s Kellogg Executive Education program.

Acosta has been an active member and past President of the CMAA North Texas Chapter and was honored with the CMAA Project of the Year Award in 2012. He was recently selected to join the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Leadership Dallas Class, a leadership program aimed at guiding executives in addressing key challenges and opportunities within the Dallas region.

“KAI is excited to have Herschel join our team with his expertise, experience, connectivity, and proven track record of highly successful delivery of programs for his clients and industry partners,” said KAI President Darren L. James, FAIA, NOMA, NCARB. “Herschel’s leadership and insight will contribute to KAI’s existing portfolio of programs and lead us to greater heights in service to new and existing partners.”
