Designed by Corgan, the project design includes renovation and addition to the 1925 Oak Cliff campus. Additions will include a Fine Arts and Athletics wing, which will house a competition gym and serves as the campus storm shelter. Renovations involve replacement of windows and skylights, cleaning and resealing of exterior masonry, and reworking of the entry and admin area.
Interior updates also include general lighting and finish upgrades throughout the building, along with MEP upgrades throughout the existing area. Renovations will also be made to the existing fields, so that they can be reworked along with parking and paving scope on site and in the annex.
“We are excited to work with Dallas ISD on Sunset High School,” said Will Hodges, President of Cadence McShane. “We are looking forward to coordinating with Corgan and others on this historic campus by upgrading the interiors, while maintaining the 96-year-old landmark exterior.”
Completion of the additions and renovations at Sunset High School is slated for summer 2022.
