“The Glaspie Field Athletic Complex will be the new home for two schools, creating tremendous opportunities for athletics and fine arts students,” said VLK Principal Jonathan Aldis. “At VLK, we create educational spaces that impact the community, and what is happening here is a tremendous benefit to the Martin and Seguin High School communities who now have a field they can call home.”
The Glaspie Field Athletic Complex will have a capacity for 10,000 patrons and includes a new football field, track, and softball field. The complex will also feature new lighting, concessions, restrooms, ticket booths, and a three-story press box. The new facility will include additional bus parking and features a landscape buffer for surrounding neighborhoods.
“We are very excited to be one step closer to having another stadium here for both Martin and Seguin High School students,” said Dr. Steven Wurtz, Interim Superintendent of Arlington ISD. “We are excited about what this means for our students as this facility will bring more opportunities for them, and it wouldn’t be possible without the support from the Arlington ISD community.”
