Based in Dallas, Salin will apply his strategic, client-focused approach to some of HDR's largest transit projects in the region, including the Project Connect transit program in Austin. He will provide expert insight into the Federal Transit Administration’s grant programs and assist in the delivery of complex large capital programs. In addition, he will assist clients with expertise in emerging areas of emphasis for transit, including new mobility, mobility as a service, electrified mobility, and more.

Salin brings over 40 years of regional transit system planning including light rail, commuter rail, and streetcar projects in both the public and private sector. After spending the last two decades with Dallas Area Rapid Transit, he is well versed in the needs of public transit agencies and the complexities of large, transformative projects.
While with DART, he served in several capacities, most recently as Vice President of Capital Planning, advancing the Dallas CBD Subway D2 project. He also conducted alternatives analysis, preliminary engineering, and environmental review for the existing 93 miles of the DART light rail system. Other projects include the Cotton Belt Corridor Regional Rail, DART Red & Blue Line Platform Extensions, and Dallas Streetcar & Extension.

Salin is a frequent presenter at the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and American Planning Association conferences and a member of multiple APTA committees or subcommittees.
