HOUSTON, TX — TDK Construction, a full-service commercial general contractor, announces the appointment of Tina Khatri as CEO of the Houston-based firm. Women make up 11 percent of the construction workforce in the U.S., and Tina will be among the 1 percent of female CEO’s in the industry. With more than 17 years of experience in constructing spaces throughout the greater Houston region, Tina is poised to continue TDK’s 30 years of building commercial and community-focused projects as its new Chief Executive Officer.
“Building a family-run business with a foundation of integrity and strong work ethic has been one of my proudest achievements,” said Dan Khatri, President and Founder of TDK Construction. “Tina has worked closely with our talented team for years, making her transition to CEO a natural progression. Continuing to work alongside her as President, I’m confident Tina will lead the company with passion and dedication, advancing our mission to create meaningful spaces.”
Tina expressed gratitude to the clients, partners, and employees who have been instrumental in the company’s journey. “Teamwork makes the dream work,” she said. “Your collaboration, expertise, and dedication are the cornerstone of our achievements.”
Tina joined TDK Construction as Vice President in 2008, bringing experience from her tenure at Huron Consulting Group. With a degree in finance and accounting from The University of Texas at Austin, she drove revenue growth and spearheaded the modernization of operations. Her efforts ensured that TDK's personalized service adapted to the construction industry's evolving and often challenging demands.
“I’m proud to be one of the leading women-owned minority general contractors and look forward to continuing to foster collaboration and innovation as CEO,” Tina said. “Larger and more complex projects are possible with modern tools and a focus on value engineering. These allow TDK to stand out as the firm that prioritizes a hands-on, tailored approach from preconstruction to project closeout. That balance only happens when your experience meets the needs of the client.”
