AUSTIN, TX — Lindsay Wood, PE, rejoins HNTB Corporation as Senior Project Manager and Associate Vice President, based in the firm’s Austin office.

In this role, Wood helps lead a variety of public transit projects, both in Austin and across the state, including engagement in the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Blue and Gold Lines that will help connect Austin Bergstrom International Airport with downtown Austin, the University of Texas, and Austin Community College. HNTB currently is providing planning and preliminary design services to Capital Metro for work on these eight- and six-mile rapid transit corridors.

In addition to assisting on key projects with Capital Metro throughout her 14-year career, Wood has helped deliver transit planning and design contracts for several other agencies in Texas, including Houston METRO, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, VIA Metropolitan Transit, the Gulf Coast Rail District, Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority and the Texas Department of Transportation.

Prior to rejoining HNTB, Wood served as Regional Transit and Rail Market Leader for another consulting firm.

Wood is a graduate of the University of Texas and is involved in various industry organizations. She is the immediate past President of the Women’s Transportation Seminar Heart of Texas Chapter and an active member of the American Public Transportation Association.

HNTB’s work in south and central Texas includes serving as both general planning consultant and general engineering consultant to Capital Metro, providing comprehensive professional services to VIA Metropolitan Transit in San Antonio, as well as a variety of services to various districts of the Texas Department of Transportation and serving as the program manager for bond programs for Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties.

Clifford Halvorsen, PE, joins HNTB Corporation as Construction Services Director and Associate Vice President, based in the firm’s Houston office.

Halvorsen brings 35 years of experience to this role, with background leading projects across the Houston region for the Texas Department of Transportation and Harris County Toll Road Authority. Prior to joining HNTB, he served as a Senior CEI Manager for another consulting firm.

“Clifford’s in-depth knowledge and understanding of Houston’s transportation infrastructure are invaluable as we continue to work to improve mobility and lessen congestion across the region,” said Mike Voinis, PE, HNTB Houston Office Leader and Vice President. “His broad set of skills and trusted industry relationships are a huge asset in delivering the best possible value to our clients.”

Halvorsen’s expertise includes design, maintenance, and construction of highways, roadways, and bridges in both urban and rural environments, giving him an understanding of traffic control, material requirements, safety issues, and construction techniques.

Halvorsen’s contributions to improving transportation previously were recognized by industry leaders as a recipient of the Luther DeBerry Award from the Texas Transportation Institute. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University.

HNTB’s work in Houston includes serving as program manager for the Texas Department of Transportation’s US-290 program, design for Houston METRO’s Northwest Transit Center, and on-call planning services for the Houston Airport System.
