Barnes has 21 years of experience, seven in water/sewer construction and 14 in hydraulics and hydrology (H&H) engineering. Barnes has extensive experience designing drainage plans for site development, including grading, utilities, pavement/parking lots, and detention ponds. He has designed stormwater systems and is experienced in the production of H&H modeling for stormwater systems, hydraulic channel modeling, and watershed analysis.
Barnes' addition gives Neel-Schaffer two Certified Floodplain Managers in the Metroplex and 12 across the company.
“Wade brings experience and a skill set as a Certified Floodplain Manager that will allow us to expand the services we can offer to our municipal clients in the Metroplex,” said Derek Cheatham, PE, Neel-Schaffer’s North Texas Market Lead. “Having CFMs on staff provides our clients with a higher expertise in floodplain management and floodplain development-related issues.”
Wade is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and holds CFM certification through the Association of State Floodplain Managers. He holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Houston and a Ph.D. in civil engineering from Texas Tech University.
