Bedoya joins the firm with 17 years of experience in urban drainage modeling and flood risk analysis. He has extensive knowledge of modeling, planning and design of wet weather infrastructure for flood protection and mitigation of climate change impacts throughout the Northeast.
At Dewberry, Bedoya will focus on leading and growing the water/wastewater group in the Boston office, while also bringing new expertise in urban drainage modeling and planning.
“David’s 17 years of experience with combined and separated sanitary/stormwater infrastructure, planning, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling and design, combined with his strategic problem-solving approach make him ideal to lead Dewberry’s New England water/wastewater business,” said Vice President and Boston Business Unit Manager, Peter Garvey, PE. “I look forward to collaborating with David as we work with public agencies and municipalities to navigate current and emerging challenges and identify infrastructure solutions that are cost effective to build and operate.”
Bedoya holds a doctorate degree in civil and environmental engineering from Northeastern University (2009), and a master’s (2001) and bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering from the University of Lleida (Spain) (1999). He is a Professional Engineer in Massachusetts. Bedoya has published articles in the New England Water and Environment Association (NEWEA) Journal and the Journal of the American Water Works Association. He is a member of the Water Environment Federation and NEWEA.
