“Mike was the clear choice in the eyes of the search committee given his ability to lead, guide, motivate and train people, his ability to effectively work with existing and new members, an exhibited track record of success and knowledge of NRMCA’s membership, and his predictive ability to advance the association, its membership and our industry,” said William Childs, Chairman of the Presidential Search Committee.
“I am honored to be given the opportunity to continue the outstanding work the association does for our members and the industry,” Philipps said.
“I would first like to thank Bill Childs and the members of the search committee for the thorough job they did in identifying Mike as the best person to lead NRMCA forward,” said Rodney Grogan, NRMCA Chairman of the Board. “Filling Bob Garbini’s shoes in this role after his 27 years of service will not be easy, but I believe the NRMCA Board has selected an individual who, with his experience and relationships in the industry, will help provide the needed leadership for the success of our association, our members and the industry into the future.”
Last November, former President Robert Garbini announced his retirement, but he will remain in an ad-hoc consulting capacity for a period of time to support the transition in leadership.
