SPRINGFIELD, VT — HNTB has been selected by the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) to provide roadway and traffic engineering services across the state. Through the six-year, on-call assignment, the firm will provide a broad range of work including design services for roadway, intersection, traffic, park-and-ride, rest area, and safety-related transportation projects.

In this role, HNTB will provide technical services such as highway and intersection design, traffic signal analysis, pavement resurfacing, active transportation facilities, hydraulic and drainage analysis, environmental permitting, geotechnical evaluation, and utility relocation support.

HNTB is currently owner’s representative for VTrans on two significant infrastructure projects in Burlington and Winooski, Vermont — the Burlington-Winooski Bridge Replacement and the Colchester and Riverside Intersection Improvements. HNTB also has regional experience from other projects, including design for the I-91 Exit 7 Improvements in Springfield, Vermont. This effort involved scoping, conceptual and preliminary design, and construction management/general contractor procurement support for the enhancement of four pairs of bridges, as well as improvements to I-91 Interchange 7 and U.S. Route 5.
