STV Recognized as Connecticut CMAA Firm of the Year

NEW HAVEN, CT — STV was honored as the Construction Management Firm of the Year by the Connecticut Chapter of the Construction Management Association of America (CT CMAA). The award recognizes firms that demonstrate leadership, high-quality workmanship, innovative project delivery, and a strong record of service to the construction management profession in Connecticut.

This recognition reflects the dedication of STV’s Connecticut team and the firm’s more than 70-year legacy of delivering community-focused, technically complex projects across the state.

One recent example is the transformation of 266 State Street in New Haven, Connecticut, into the new headquarters for the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen, where STV served as owner’s project manager for a facility that now provides wraparound services — including dining spaces, medical and counseling rooms, and amenities for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Beyond project delivery, the Connecticut team has demonstrated community stewardship over the past two years by volunteering at Connecticut Foodshare, sorting food to support families affected by historic flooding, while advancing the organization’s mission through STV’s ongoing project management support. Additionally, team members serve on professional advisory boards and participate in local volunteer efforts with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and ACE Mentoring.

“This recognition speaks to the commitment our team brings to supporting clients and communities across Connecticut,” said David Breza, PE, Vice President and Connecticut Area Manager at STV. “I’m incredibly proud of the professionalism and care we bring to every project.”

“STV’s reputation in Connecticut is built on trust, technical expertise, and strong partnerships," said Mark DuPre, Vice President at STV and past CT CMAA President. "Being selected for this honor reflects the positive impact our teams make across the state.”

The awards and scholarship banquet was hosted by Sandra Stavola, Vice President at STV and the CT CMAA President. Several STV leaders were acknowledged for their service to CT CMAA, including Stavola and DuPre, as well as Tom Dzagan, also a past President. Additionally, Angela Weese was recognized as a scholarship recipient, underscoring CT CMAA’s role in developing the next generation of construction professionals.
