“We are in our 77th year of business and added the Tomah, Sparta, and La Crosse area to our John Deere area of responsibility in 1983. The new Sparta facility sits on 8 acres and is 27,831 square feet. We also have a separate storage warehouse on site,” said Lew Brooks, President and CEO.
“The City of Sparta was opening a new business park with great access to and from I-90 for our customers,” said Byron Hansen, Vice President of Aftermarket Sales and Marketing. “It also allowed us to better centralize ourselves for our store’s coverage area. At the end of the day, working with the City of Sparta was a great fit for both of us.”
“The Sparta/Monroe County area is a growing area with a diverse clientele that makes a partnership with Brooks Tractor advantageous to both parties,” said Rollie Aspenson, Sparta Sales Manager. “With a full line of Deere construction equipment, along with numerous support lines, this location creates a ‘one stop’ experience for our customers.”
Product lines represented at the new location include John Deere construction and forestry, Dynapac rollers, Merlo telehandlers, Giant mini specialty loaders, RUBBLE MASTER crushers and screens, Bandit chippers and stump grinders, Bergmann dumpers, Etnyre trailers, Thunder Creek fuel trailers, Felling trailers, and Topcon and Leica machine control equipment.

“We also have 24/7 parts pickup lockers available making it even easier for the local contractor to get parts after hours,” said Hansen. “We are equipped with a hydraulic cylinder bench as well as a 200-ton track press to provide local cylinder and track repairs.”
In 1945, Brooks Tractor was founded by Lewis P. Brooks in Sun Prairie and continues as a family-owned business today. The company has branches in De Pere, Milwaukee, Mount Pleasant, Plover, Sun Prairie, West Salem, and now Sparta.
