DALLAS, TX — Neel-Schaffer, Inc. announces that Shashider (Shashi) Velugati, PE, has joined the firm as a Transportation Project Manager.

Based in Neel-Schaffer’s Dallas office, Velugati has more than 16 years of experience in transportation/civil engineering. He gained experience in major roadway design in Texas and New Jersey while working as a Private Consultant with several firms. Projects he has worked on recently include the reconstruction of IH-35 in Austin; the reconstruction of SH-71; the reconstruction of I-10; and the reconstruction of Post Oak Boulevard in Uptown Houston.

“We are excited to have Shashi join our team in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex,” said Derek Cheatham, PE, Neel-Schaffer’s Senior Vice President for North Texas Operations. “His transportation background includes a well-rounded mix of GEC, PS&E, and municipal project experience. He fits right in with our statewide TxDOT growth initiatives and the ability to manage North Texas’ municipal and county transportation projects.”

Velugati is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas and New Jersey. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Kakathiya University in India and a Master of Engineering in civil engineering from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
