SPLENDORA, TX — Splendora Independent School District (ISD) celebrated a milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Greenleaf Elementary Replacement School. The event was held on the school's future site. Planning, engineering, and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) continues to oversee and coordinate all aspects of the construction project.

The ceremony was attended by district officials, community leaders, and representatives from other partner agencies. Funded by the Splendora ISD’s 2022 $201 million bond program, the new Greenleaf Elementary School will offer 130,000 square feet for classrooms, administrative offices, specialized facilities, and recreational areas. The campus, set to open its doors in the fall of 2026, will serve students from prekindergarten to fifth grade and will have a capacity for 1,000 students.

“We are proud to contribute to the development of a modern educational facility that will support students' future success," said Robert Arcement, PMP, AC, LAN’s Program Manager for the district’s bond program. This new elementary school represents a significant investment in delivering an enhanced learning environment for the Splendora community.”

The new school will feature modern classrooms, advanced technology, and sustainable design elements aimed at reducing the environmental footprint. The design features flexible learning spaces that can accommodate various teaching methods.

The construction of Greenleaf Elementary School is part of Splendora ISD's broader initiative to upgrade its facilities and accommodate the district's growing student population. The district serves a diverse student population of approximately 5,000 students, ranging from prekindergarten through 12th grade, across its campuses.
