Topping out marks a construction project reaching its full height. Now construction workers will focus most of their efforts on the interior of the building.
The 103,000-square-foot facility, located near Compass Datacenters’ Red Oak campus, is designed to integrate modular data center solutions and build pre-engineered, prefabricated IT infrastructure, which will be delivered to Schneider’s United States customers. Accelerating production with an optimized supply network, Schneider is able to streamline the process, eliminate the upfront engineering and design work, and deliver quality finished solutions. This innovative model extends the advantage of speed and cost savings, and will serve customers in all industries and segments, ranging from cloud and service providers to the health care, education, telecommunication, and mining industries.
The design-build project allowed Brasfield & Gorrie to manage the design team during the project’s initial stages. Design-build delivery is a collaborative approach that often results in lower costs, improved schedules, and innovation in both design and construction methods.
“This partnership with Schneider Electric is a powerful example of how Compass Datacenters is innovating our supply chain to meet our customers’ needs for digital infrastructure around the globe,” said Nancy Novak, Chief Innovation Officer of Compass Datacenters. “Through this innovative approach to collaboration, Schneider is able to integrate our power centers and test our uninterruptable power supplies in close proximity to our campus. This will ensure efficiency, optimize logistics, and accelerate delivery to customers.”

“It’s exciting to use our construction expertise to help address a challenge that has plagued our industry and others in recent years,” Brasfield & Gorrie Regional Vice President Jason Weeks said. “Thanks to our hardworking teams, we’ve been able to combine our knowledge of industrial construction with our data center experience.”
The facility is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2024.
Brasfield & Gorrie has constructed multiple buildings on Compass’ Red Oak data center campus. The general contractor has completed more than $3.7 billion in industrial projects nationally. The industrial market sector is growing in Texas, where the general contractor has worked for more than 20 years.
