SAN ANTONIO, TX — Sundt Construction’s Progressive Design-Build Broadway Street Reconstruction project for the City of San Antonio, Texas, was honored with a 2025 Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Build America Award in the Highway & Transportation Renovation category.
“This project represents everything we strive for at Sundt — innovation, collaboration, and community impact,” said Joseph Dooley, Senior Vice President and Texas District Manager for Sundt’s Transportation Group. “Reconstructing a key urban artery, while coordinating with nearly 100 stakeholders and preserving San Antonio’s historic character, is a testament to the adaptability of our team and partners. We’re honored to have our work recognized by the AGC.”
The project was a complete renovation of a 1-mile stretch of Broadway Street, a vital corridor connecting San Antonio’s historic downtown core to its northern inner-city neighborhoods. Completed for the City of San Antonio in a collaborative progressive design-build partnership with AECOM, the project transformed the street into a safer, more accessible, and sustainable corridor.
This recognition adds another Build America award to Sundt's history. Recent projects honored with a Build America award include San Pedro Creek Culture Park Phase 1.2/1.3 in Texas, Northwest Water and Wastewater Master Plan Package 3A in Arizona, and San Diego International Airport’s Airport Support Facilities.
