The new 106,622-square-foot headquarters will sit on 6.2 acres of the new 660-acre PGA Frisco campus, which will also include two new championship golf courses, a 500-room Omni Resort, and a golf entertainment district. Predominantly glass and limestone, the four-story headquarters building will initially house approximately 150 corporate employees, with three floors of office space, a top floor conference room, and outdoor terrace lounge space. The ground floor includes a video studio and education center. The lobby design will feature a wood wall, sculpted to mimic the contours of a golf course, terrazzo flooring, and an open social stair, with side areas for seating.
This public-private partnership teams the PGA of America with Omni Stillwater Woods (OSW), a joint venture led by Omni Hotels & Resorts with Stillwater and Woods Capital; the City of Frisco, as well as its Economic and Community Development Corporations; and the Frisco Independent School District. With AP as the project’s general contractor, Cushman & Wakefield is managing the construction team on behalf of the PGA of America, and Page is the team’s architect.
“We are ecstatic to kick off construction of the new PGA of America Headquarters as they make their new corporate home in Frisco,” said Corbett Nichter, AP Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “This is an extraordinary team effort with the PGA of America, Cushman & Wakefield, and Page, and it is going to be a great place for employees to work and a wonderful corporate addition for North Texas.”
“This is a historic moment for the PGA of America, as we see the vision for our new PGA Headquarters come to life,” said PGA of America Chief Operating Officer Darrell Crall. “The Modern Home of American Golf at PGA Frisco is now within our sight, and we’re delighted to break ground on our new state-of-the-art headquarters, which will serve as a destination for our nearly 29,000 PGA members, and a catalyst for an inclusive and diverse workforce."
Projected to open in the first quarter of 2022, the new PGA Headquarters will incorporate golf education space and indoor training facilities, such as a chipping area, putting green, driving range simulators, and three bays where exterior wall panels open out for hitting to the actual driving range. In addition to the video studio, a trophy gallery will also be a key feature of the new building.
“We are so proud to be a part of this project,” said Brad Blankenship, Senior Managing Director, Cushman & Wakefield. “Our primary goal is to deliver on the promise to create an extraordinary new home for the PGA of America’s Headquarters."
“We are grateful to be the lead design partner for this legacy building connecting generations of people who have made golf their life’s work,” said Kris Walsh, Principal at Page. “Our charge to create an environment that brings education and the workplace together is what makes this building special."
FRISCO, TX — Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP), a national construction management firm and general contractor, along with Cushman & Wakefield and Page, have commenced construction on the new corporate headquarters for the PGA of America in Frisco, Texas.
