DALLAS, TX — Kara Lentz, PE, CCM, LEED AP, has been named HNTB Corporation’s national construction services practice leader. Based in HNTB’s office in Dallas, Texas, Lentz leads the firm’s construction services practice and supports clients and teams nationwide.
Lentz has been with HNTB since 2016 and has more than 25 years of professional experience in program, project, and construction management of airport, transportation, and building projects. Throughout her career, she has successfully managed major aviation programs and provided strategic consulting and program management oversight of projects for multiple transit authorities and departments of transportation.
“Kara has served as our interim leader for the construction services practice and embraced the role with vigor and focus. She forged a strong community of practice within HNTB and works with offices and teams across the firm on all manner of construction services issues to support our clients,” said Jim Ray, HNTB Corporate President, Advisory. “We’re excited to see the practice continue to grow and deliver for our clients with Kara’s leadership.”
Lentz sits on the national Construction Management Association of America’s (CMAA) board of directors and serves as its Treasurer. She also chairs the Government Advocacy Committee for the organization.

Lentz earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from The Cooper Union in New York City.
