“We’re happy to work with Corgan and Lake|Flato as they honor and elevate the local character of our San Antonio community,” said Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System.
Lake|Flato is known for its architectural design of the Federal Courthouse in downtown San Antonio, Trinity University’s Dickie Hall, Witte Museum expansion, and The Pearl among dozens of other projects throughout Texas and the United States.
Some of Corgan’s large-scale recent projects include: Shanghai Pudong International Airport’s South Satellite Concourse, Nashville International Airport’s Terminal Program, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport’s Terminal 3 Re-Development Program and Terminal 4 South 1 Concourse, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s Terminal D, Dallas Love Field Airport’s Terminal Modernization Program, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport’s Terminal 1 and Federal Inspection Services Facility, and William P. Hobby Airport’s Concourse Expansion & FIS Facility.
Corgan, which is currently completing advanced planning for the TDP, will also provide design services for enabling projects, which include but are not limited to:

“I’m looking forward to continuing to work closely with both nationally recognized firms to make the new terminal complex a place to be proud of,” said Tim O’Krongley, Deputy Director of San Antonio Airport System, who leads the Terminal Development Team. “They will incorporate our vibrant, unique, and welcoming San Antonio culture into the design and construction of the new facilities through the application of the Design Standard Manual and the City’s Public Art Program. All of these architectural and engineering services for our 17-gate new terminal facility will support air service growth over the next few decades.”
The City Council also approved today a contract for KGBTexas Communications, a woman-owned local agency, to provide advertising and marketing services for the San Antonio Airport System. The scope of services for the contract includes promoting air service, concessions, customer experience enhancements, and branding initiatives for SAT and a public awareness campaign for the Terminal Development Program at the airport.
“We are pleased to continue working with KGBTexas to communicate the benefits of traveling from or to San Antonio International Airport and Stinson Municipal Airport, our continued elevation to customer experience including more dining, retail, and parking options, as well as the significant opportunities presented by the TDP,” Saenz said. “KGBTexas has the experience and the local knowledge to keep us on the positive trajectory the airport has established.”
In addition to its previous work with the San Antonio Airport System, KGBTexas has also worked with multiple airport systems around the state of Texas, as well as other transportation- and transit-related initiatives.
