DALLAS, TX — McKinstry, a construction and energy services company, expanded its investment in Texas with a larger office in Dallas and a new office and fabrication shop in Austin. McKinstry has served Texas for nearly two decades, guiding clients to design, construct, and optimize high-performing facilities and energy infrastructure across the state.
“McKinstry’s larger presence in Texas enhances our ability to deliver broad capabilities with deep local market knowledge to more clients across commercial, data centers, higher education, K-12 school districts, health care, and beyond,” said Brian Ratcliff, McKinstry Vice President of Energy & Technical Services South. “Texas is close to our hearts, and we’re excited to expand our ability to serve local clients and communities.”
McKinstry moved into a larger, 20,000-square-foot office space in Dallas, doubling its footprint to meet growing client and hiring needs. The new Dallas office serves as the company’s South Region headquarters and houses extensive capabilities across engineering, construction, energy infrastructure, deep facility retrofits, and facility operations. Dallas is also home to McKinstry’s fire protection team for the region.
The newly opened McKinstry Austin office serves as a central hub for regional project design and delivery. Like in Dallas, the office will house expertise across engineering, construction, energy infrastructure, deep facility retrofits, and facility operations. In addition, the office is home to McKinstry’s Data Center Innovations team focused on optimizing data centers across engineering, construction, liquid cooling, manufactured modular cooling plants, and optimized operations.
Austin will also soon be home to McKinstry’s first fabrication shop located outside of the Pacific Northwest. The 13,300-square-foot facility will support pipe fabrication, ductwork, and multi-trade assemblies spanning mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection. Components fabricated at the Austin shop will serve Texas clients as well as clients located in central and eastern U.S. regions.

“Fabricating and assembling components off site provides us with more flexibility while increasing speed, quality, and safety and decreasing costs compared to fabricating and assembling on the job site itself,” said Brian Antonsen, McKinstry Senior Vice President of National Construction. “It also allows us to control more of the supply chain, which mitigates risk around system availability and costs.”
McKinstry’s offices in Dallas and Austin are currently open and operational. The Austin fabrication shop will start operations in early 2026.
