MIDLOTHIAN, TX — KDC and Oncor Electric Delivery Company, LLC hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the new distribution center at Midlothian’s Railport Business Park.
KDC broke ground on the nearly 422,000-square-foot, LEED-certified, build-to-suit industrial facility in December 2023. The facility sits on 60.7 acres in Midlothian, about 31 miles southwest of downtown Dallas. Oncor, Texas’ largest electricity transmission and distribution company, serves more than 13 million customers in the Lone Star State.
This 36-foot clear-height building features a cross-dock configuration with a significant amount of warehouse storage space along with interior offices, a break room, training rooms, lockers, and restrooms.
“KDC is proud to have played an important role in meeting Oncor’s commitment to its customers as the company continues to grow and serve Texans,” said Eric Hage, KDC President. “The new distribution center also supports Oncor’s vision of innovative and great service.”
Prior to breaking ground on the distribution center, KDC successfully worked with the city of Midlothian to rezone the site from agricultural to planned development, ensuring Midlothian’s character stays while adjusting the site to accommodate this new facility.
