“All of the 2021 CDRA winners have helped move the C&D industry forward,” said Terry Weaver, USA Gypsum and 2019-2021 CDRA President. “As a result of their efforts and insights, and their ability to find innovative solutions and leverage their resources, the bar has been raised for every professional in the C&D industry.”

Big City Crushed Concrete is an original member of the CDRA, and Brown has been to more of CDRA’s Annual Meetings than any other attendee, starting with the first one in Chicago. Established in 1988, Big City is very active in its local community, and Brown has always been willing to talk with his peers about the best way to run a recycling operation. Big City worked closely with the Texas Department of Transportation to help create the Texas market for recycled road base, especially the company’s local highway district. Currently the company is operating eight permanent sites and has a mobile crushing business as well. Brown has also served two terms on the CDRA Board of Directors, and Big City has been an annual corporate sponsor of the CDRA since the program started.C&D Recycler of the Year
C&D Recycler of the Year is Champion Waste & Recycling, a woman-owned and family operated multi-facility company. The company has received several state awards in recent years as it grows its footprint throughout the DFW Metroplex. Started in 2001, this vertically integrated company has grown exponentially, and has helped recycle much of the C&D materials in the North Dallas area, where its C&D recycling plant is located. The company has a hauling operation that brings in much of the material to be processed, but also accepts debris from third-party haulers, especially those looking for support for LEED credits. The company has been very open to letting people tour the site, and with providing operating and end market advice.
