Harvest Ridge Elementary will be the district's fourth elementary school and will serve students in grades pre-K through 5th grade. The school will be built with state-of-the-art technology and will feature innovative designs to enhance learning experiences for students. The new elementary school is a part of the district’s nearly $183 million bond program, which was passed by the Elgin community in November of 2021.
Lockwood, Andrews and Newnam, Inc. (LAN) is the program manager for the district’s bond program, which encompasses a range of initiatives, including the construction of two new elementary schools, upgrades and expansion at Elgin High School, the establishment of a new Transportation Center, renovation of the Career and Technical Education facilities, a new multi-purpose activity and event center, as well as district-wide renovations.
"We are honored to have been selected as the program manager for the Elgin ISD bond program and are excited to be a part of the Harvest Ridge Elementary project," said Tim Strucely, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, LAN Associate and Program Manager for the district’s bond program. "Our team is dedicated to delivering a high-quality facility that meets the needs of the district and the community."
Harvest Ridge Elementary is scheduled to open in the fall of 2024 and is located on a 13-acre site in the Harvest Ridge development, near Elgin High School. The school will have a capacity of 800 students and will feature a library, art room, music room, cafeteria, gymnasium, and outdoor learning spaces. Construction is set to begin soon, with the planning and design components already completed.
