POLK COUNTY, IA — Star Equipment welcomes Gary Stickfort as a new Rental Salesman serving all of Polk County. Stickfort joins the team with a background in construction-related industries and will focus on growing Star Equipment’s rental business by helping customers secure equipment for their projects.
Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, Stickfort is a graduate of Urbandale High School and earned his associate degree from Des Moines Area Community College. He began his career in the concrete pumping industry in 2015 before transitioning into the restoration industry specializing in water mitigation. In 2021, Stickfort moved into the roofing industry, where he worked in residential roof replacement until joining Star Equipment at the end of 2025 to begin his new role in 2026.
“Gary’s hands-on experience across multiple construction trades gives him a great understanding of what contractors need from a rental partner,” said Nate Sizemore, Sales Manager at Star Equipment. “He brings strong energy, a customer-first mindset, and a drive to grow our rental business throughout Polk County.”
