PLEASANT HILL, IA — Turner Construction and project team partners recently celebrated a significant construction milestone with the topping out of the new Southeast Polk Community School District Transportation Maintenance Facility in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.
The ceremony marked a step forward for the approximately 19,000-square-foot project, which will provide the district with expanded space to support its transportation operations. The milestone also offered an opportunity to recognize the work, craftsmanship, and collaboration of the project team and trade partners bringing this facility to life.
The project includes a new 17,750-square-foot maintenance facility featuring dedicated bus and maintenance work bays, parts and fluid storage, restrooms, and employee breakroom space. Additionally, a 1,300-square-foot expansion to the adjacent administrative facility and parking improvements will further enhance the district's transportation operations.
Designed to support the team responsible for keeping Southeast Polk students moving safely and reliably, the new facility represents an investment in the district's long-term operational needs. Turner is partnering with Southeast Polk Community School District, RDG, and its trade partners to deliver a facility that will serve the district and its community for years to come.
