The facility is a regional hub for substation tech and line workers from Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri, and Minnesota.
Michels Power, Inc. has a classroom named in its honor at the state-of-the-art facility. Currently, Michels Power has 52 line worker apprentices and three substation apprentices from the Missouri Valley JATC as well as about 50 more from regional JATCs throughout the United States.
Vice President Troy Schneider is a member of the Missouri Valley JATC Board of Directors. Transmission and Distribution Regional Manager Gregg Stiteley and Special Projects General Manager Miles Shaw are on subcommittees. In addition, Michels is substantially involved in the National Electrical Contractors Association and IBEW, which make up the JATC.
JATC programs provide apprentices with thousands of hours of classroom and field training and mentorship to prepare them for safe, meaningful, and sought-after careers in energy infrastructure.
