JACKSON, MS — Neel-Schaffer announces that Clarke Chauvin, PE, PTOE, PMP, has been named the firm’s Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Practice Lead.
In this role, he will help guide the firm’s growing ITS practice, supporting clients with innovative solutions that improve safety, mobility, and system performance across transportation networks. Chauvin will focus on advancing Neel-Schaffer’s capabilities in the planning, design, and deployment of transportation technologies, including connected vehicle systems, traffic signal systems, and integrated corridor management solutions.
Chauvin joined Neel-Schaffer in 2024 and served as a Traffic Senior Project Manager based in the firm’s Baton Rouge, Louisiana, office. He brings 13 years of experience focused on ITS, traffic signal design, and traffic studies, along with a background delivering projects for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) and the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT).
Chauvin's experience spans every stage of traditional ITS engineering, from planning and analysis to design and construction, as well as maintenance and upgrades. He has helped pioneer new technology deployments, including Louisiana’s first adaptive signal corridor, the state’s first connected vehicle corridor, safety bays along the world’s longest bridge, and most recently, developing new AI applications to increase intersection safety.
