ARDOT Director Tudor Honored with Award from Associated General Contractors of Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, AR — Associated General Contractors of Arkansas (AGC Arkansas) awarded Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) Director Lorie Tudor with their SIR (Skill, Integrity, Responsibility) Award — the highest honor AGC can give to a person outside of their association. The SIR Award is nationally recognized, and it is presented to someone whose leadership and activities have enhanced the construction industry.

In a statement about this year’s award, AGC Arkansas said:

“This year’s SIR award goes to a civil engineer and a visionary leader. As the first female Director of the [Arkansas] Department of Transportation, she is a role model and a mentor for many. She has been instrumental in implementing a new strategic plan that focuses on partnering with contractors, legislature, and public officials. She has fostered a culture of transparency and accountability, ensuring that the Department of Transportation delivers quality projects on time and within budget. She has also championed innovation and technology, embracing new methods and tools to improve efficiency and safety. Her achievements and contributions are exemplary and deserving of the AGC SIR Award. She has demonstrated skill, integrity, and responsibility in her work, and has made a positive impact on the transportation sector of our industry and the community. It is an honor to award the AGC SIR Award to Arkansas Department of Transportation Director Lorie Tudor.”

The SIR Award may be presented annually to an individual outside of the association. In the history of AGC Arkansas, the SIR Award has only been given to 23 recipients. Past recipients include Governor Bill Clinton, Senator Dale Bumpers, and architect Ed Cromwell. Tudor is the first female recipient of the SIR Award.

“I am humbled to receive such an honor and to join the ranks of other amazing SIR Award recipients,” Tudor said. “I would like to thank my friend Don Weaver of Weaver-Bailey Contractors for nominating me. And I would like to thank the contracting industry and the ARDOT staff that have worked alongside me to bring about positive change and progress. The future is bright, and I am optimistic that together we will continue to improve on our mutual goal of providing for Arkansas’ transportation needs efficiently and effectively.”
