RUSTON, LA — Hunt, Guillot & Associates (HGA) announces that Matt Woodard has assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer, in which Woodard will provide leadership to the accounting and finance functions for HGA. Woodard and his team will supply the business units of HGA with information and analysis that helps each unit work toward the common goal of achieving strategic vision while adhering to the core values of HGA.

Early in his public accounting career, Woodard gained experience working with clients from a collection of industries, including construction contractors, wholesale distributors, banks, credit unions, financial institutions, manufacturers, timber companies, nonprofit entities, and governmental agencies.

In 2009, along with a business colleague, Woodard purchased an existing accounting practice in north Louisiana. Within four years, Woodard and his colleague doubled the size of the firm, hiring and training more personnel in the process.

Woodard and his colleague decided to sell their practice in 2013. Woodard then joined a family-owned business as its Chief Financial Officer. Woodard provided budget analysis, cash flow planning, financial reporting, benefit plan administration, optimal capital allocation, investment analysis, strategic planning, tax planning, tax compliance, and coordination of banking and insurance relationships. Woodard brings these cross-disciplinary capabilities to HGA.

Woodard graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting in 2003. He extended his studies at Louisiana Tech by obtaining his Master of Professional Accountancy degree one year later.

Woodard is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Louisiana and also holds the professional designations of Chartered Global Management Accountant as well as Personal Financial Specialist.
