BETHANY, OK — Oklahoma-based Manhattan Road & Bridge Company, a member of the Manhattan Construction Group family of companies, donated $15,000 to The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital, becoming one of the first corporate Christmas Heroes of 2020. The donated funds will be allocated to the areas of greatest patient need in the coming months.

“During construction of the John Kilpatrick Turnpike bridge project at Highway 66, our team heard story after story about the life-saving work by The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital, located near our job site,” said Eric Mainka, Manhattan Road & Bridge Project Manager. “In the tradition of giving back to the communities in which we build, we wanted to support the hospital’s mission to maximize the potential of the lives of children. We hope that by shining a light on their compassionate work, others will join us in supporting them.”

The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital and Manhattan were both founded in Oklahoma in the late 19th century and share rich histories rooted in shared core values. Receiving this recognition and support from Manhattan Road & Bridge Company is deeply appreciated by the hospital.

“The Manhattan team is a special group of people that cares deeply about their community. The children in our hospital will be blessed by their loving support this Christmas," said Nico Gomez, CEO of the Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital. "The Manhattan Road & Bridge Company is building a connection to these wonderful patients on a foundation of love and support that makes a positive difference in these children’s lives."

Because of COVID-19 protocols, the hospital must limit in-kind donations this year, making donations such as Manhattan Road & Bridge’s especially important. The hospital’s Christmas Heroes campaign offers donors the opportunity to make a flexible donation. All donations will be used to purchase developmental and basic needs items that support the hospital’s standards of medical care and benefit the individuality of every patient from newborn to young adult.
