TULSA, OK — Ray Powell, PE, has joined Garver as Buildings Team Leader based in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, office. Powell brings a decade of experience designing and coordinating mechanical systems, and will lead Garver’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing efforts across the Tulsa metropolitan area.
Powell has experience in building information modeling (BIM) across civic, educational, and hospitality developments. In his role at Garver, he will provide project support and actively develop new relationships in Tulsa's building sectors.
“Ray’s grasp of advanced engineering design tools and his passion for authentic connections are ushering the MEP team into an inspiring phase of growth,” MEPF Practice Leader Zac Buckmiller said. “He understands the unique needs of the buildings in our region and the goals Garver has for this team. I’m excited to watch him take our people and projects to the next level.”
Powell has been a part of Tulsa’s building and architecture environment since 2014, serving as an intern, and later employee, at major firms in the area. This exposure to Tulsa’s building sectors has allowed him to discover his passion for building systems and hone his skills within the industry.
Powell currently holds Professional Engineer licenses in Oklahoma and Arkansas; bachelor’s degrees in architectural engineering and civil engineering from Drexel University; and a master’s degree in architectural urban studies and graduate certificate in design entrepreneurship and real estate from the University of Oklahoma.

A supporter of closing the AEC workforce gap, Powell also guides young professionals and early designers looking for footholds in the industry. He plans to join members of Garver’s Tulsa office to volunteer through GarverGives, the firm’s corporate giving program, and take part in Connect, its professional mentorship program.
“Tulsa has always been my home,” Powell said. “The region has shaped me and my family, and I’m thankful for the chance to build better buildings with Garver and work with like-minded MEP experts to grow our department.”
