TULSA, OK — Manhattan Construction Company announces the promotion of Darren Cottom to Vice President of Health Care, recognizing his more than three decades of leadership in delivering complex health care construction projects.

Previously serving as Account Director, specializing in health care, Cottom is nationally recognized in Manhattan as the firm’s health care subject-matter expert. Based in Oklahoma, he has led more than 500 health care projects in his career, ranging from targeted hospital floor renovations to multi‑facility health care system work valued at more than $300 million.

In his new role, Cottom will guide health care clients nationally through the unique operational, regulatory, and technical challenges of building in active medical environments. His expertise spans health care phasing, infection control, compliance, and constructability.

“Darren has an exceptional ability to anticipate health care environment challenges and collaborate with our clients, design teams, and trade partners to drive positive outcomes,” said John Reyhan, President of Manhattan Construction Company. “His deep understanding of health care facilities, combined with his collaborative approach and technical expertise, makes him an invaluable resource for our health care clients. This promotion reflects both his impact and the confidence our clients place in him.”

A Certified Healthcare Constructor, Cottom works closely with hospital facility managers to develop detailed phasing strategies that keep critical health care operations fully functional during construction. His knowledge of MEP‑intensive systems, prefabrication methodologies, and local and national trade partner capabilities enables him to proactively mitigate risks related to supply chain constraints, site logistics, and regulatory compliance.

Cottom holds a Bachelor of Science in construction management from Oklahoma State University and maintains multiple industry credentials, including Certified Healthcare Constructor, Certified Professional Constructor, LEED Accredited Professional, and OSHA 30‑Hour Certification.
