KANSAS CITY, MO — HNTB Corporation names Gretchen Ivy, PE, as Central States Office Leader, overseeing offices in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Iowa. A Vice President based in the firm’s Kansas City office, Ivy brings more than two decades of experience in delivering innovative projects and policy guidance to multiple state departments of transportation and tolling authorities.

Ivy has served in a variety of roles at HNTB, most recently as Transportation Planning and Policy Project Director, where she oversees client projects and program initiatives across the Central U.S.

Her recent project experience includes serving as Project Manager for an eight-state partnership through the Mid-America Association of State Transportation Officials to plan, design, and deploy a first-of-its-kind Truck Parking Information Management System at 139 sites across the Midwest, as well as serving as HNTB’s Project Director for the Kansas Turnpike Authority’s planned conversion of the 236-mile Kansas Turnpike to all-electronic, cashless tolling in the coming years.

Ivy also previously served as Group Director of Transportation Planning and Policy, where she was responsible for leading the four-state regional planning practice for the Central States Office.

“Gretchen’s natural leadership skills and her ability to influence performance will help us continue to grow in our ability to serve our clients and our people and help them deliver on large-scale infrastructure projects across the region,” said Chris Price, PE, President of HNTB’s Central Division. “Additionally, her commitment to our industry, both through mentorship to her colleagues and involvement with industry and civic organizations will solidify our firm’s role in developing industry best talent and ability to help shape transportation policy.”
