Graham Named District 3 Engineer for Mississippi DOT
Durwood P. Graham has been named District 3 District Engineer following Kevin Magee’s retirement. Before becoming District Engineer, Graham served as the Assistant District Engineer, Construction Operations.
Graham was hired by the Mississippi State Highway Department and started in the Natchez Project Office in 1992 before transferring to Hazlehurst as an Engineer in Training. From there, he worked his way up to Resident Engineer in Vicksburg.
In his new role, Graham will manage all district operations including maintenance, construction, project development and traffic operations throughout the Mississippi Delta region and portions of southwest Mississippi.
“Durwood is coming into this new role with the skills and leadership ability to provide the excellence that we’re accustomed to,” said MDOT Executive Director Melinda McGrath. “Congratulations to both Kevin and Durwood on their new endeavors.”
Graham is replacing former District Engineer Magee following 31 years of service with MDOT. The two engineers have worked very closely over the last two months to ensure a smooth transition.
“I am forever grateful for Kevin Magee’s leadership and service to the state over the last 31 years,” Graham said. “It’s been a pleasure working with Kevin and the many, many great folks throughout MDOT’s District 3 over the last 27 years.”
Graham has a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University. He resides in Raymond, Mississippi.
