Swope has 18 years of mechanical engineering experience. He has provided plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems design for various projects, including museums, libraries, higher education facilities, and civic and corporate buildings.
Projects in Swope’s portfolio include the modernization of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum, and the renovation and restoration of the historic Enoch Pratt Free Library. He also designed systems for the new Capital One Hall; Virginia Commonwealth University’s College of Health Professions; Bowie State University’s LEED Platinum Center for Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Nursing; and Duke University’s School of Nursing.
Swope holds a Bachelor of Science in electro-mechanical engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He is currently Vice President-Technical of the Baltimore Chapter of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers.
