ARLINGTON, VA — Brent Hyden, PE, MBA, PMP, joins HNTB as a Senior Project Manager in the firm’s Arlington, Virginia, office. Hyden has more than 30 years of experience in federal design and construction, including expertise in facility life cycle planning, capital budgeting, and infrastructure modernization. A retired Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, he will lead key initiatives across the region, contributing strategic leadership and technical insight to HNTB’s portfolio of projects.
Hyden joins HNTB following a career in public service, most recently as Deputy Associate Executive Director for Design and Construction at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In that role, he led billion-dollar annual capital investment programs and directed nationwide teams delivering complex projects.

Earlier in his career, Hyden held senior leadership roles with the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, including serving as the Air Force Facilities Division Chief at the Pentagon and overseeing the rebuild of Tyndall Air Force Base following Hurricane Michael.
Hyden holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Harvey Mudd College and a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and Certified Project Management Professional.
