COLUMBIA, SC — Archer-United Joint Venture, a collaboration between Archer Western Construction and United Infrastructure Group, has been awarded the Palmetto Shining Star 2025 Safety Award by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR). This honor recognizes the project team’s commitment to safety on the Carolina Crossroads Project, one of the largest infrastructure projects in state history.
The Palmetto Shining Star Award highlights organizations that go above and beyond in promoting safe work environments and preventing workplace injuries. In presenting the award, the Division of Labor commended Archer-United for helping advance LLR’s mission to protect the health, safety, and economic well-being of South Carolina’s workforce through regulation, training, and education. The Carolina Crossroads Project aims to alleviate congestion and improve mobility at the interchange of I-20, I-26, and I-126 in Columbia, South Carolina, often referred to as “Malfunction Junction.” Archer-United is leading the design-build efforts for Phases 1 and 2, implementing critical upgrades that will improve traffic flow, safety, and capacity for decades to come.
